PC Assassin's Creed Slips

It is something special, my mates who played it on their 360's ans ps3's loved it and played it nonstop for 2 days.

Shame, another game delayed.

No, it's really nothing special. It's a decent game and that's all.

Like I said the reptition almost ruined it, without that it really could've been a special game. I did like it, I did complete it, but it was nothing special. If you've not played it yourself, which from what you said sounds true, wait and see.

Yeah i read a xbox review and its very repetitive, heck the cool feature of running up and climing on roofs to escape is even negated by the fact the guards can do a better job of it than you and its no different than on the ground chases. And you repeat a lot of things in the game and even the fights all are samy and will get boring after awhile.

From what i have heard of course. Maybe the pc version with its longer dev time has improved a few things but i doubt it. Id still have a go on it but im not expecting anything new to the stealth genre.

Its also a shame that the start of the game your not able to go everywhere and just limited to the district your in at the start, you need to climb a tall building to get the map to open up and it opens up in a very few places i think.

Still it probably will be fun for a day or two or longer if you just stick it on for 20 mins now and then which ill probably do.

Its a great game, no more repetitive than any hack and slash or FPS. Feels very fresh in places and the animations are simply superb, can't wait to see what they do with the second one.

Not at all, the free running is excellent and easy to learn.

Easy to learn as in hold A and push where you want to go and watch?

assassins creed is a perfect example of excellent marketing. The game itself is good for (to quote a poster above, 2 days ;)) after that the reptition is unbelievable.

Repetition?

LOL

yeah this must be one of the only games to suffer from that :p

No seriously play it casually and it is a good game ;)

bang on, I don't get why this is the only game that seems to get attacked for being repetitive, have you looked at games?? They're almost all repetitive.

Once you learn to counterattack the combat is quite literally right trigger + x or whatever.

There's a big difference here. Assassinations in Assassin's Creed must make up about 5-10% of the gameplay, because the rest of the time you will be running around these cities doing the exact same four or five side-missions over and over again before actually getting to assassinate your target. There would be about 1-2 hours worth of gameplay otherwise.

Like I said, it's a decent game and it is quite fun (if only for the freerunning), but the repetition does it a lot of harm.

Again you could easily argue most FPS games are move, point, click repeat... or racing games are looping a track

Just because you choose to always counter attack does not mean you are forced too

I personally started off most fights running and jumping to knife em... and even in fights you can choose to flee offloading a few throwing knifes ect

Just like some people on here, I choose to play through some levels on Crysis just chucking objects in strength mode, at the end of the day it is up to you whether you choose to just pick the easy route to get it done quick or decide to do something different.

Another example from back in the day is Golden Axe, the dwarf's rolling axe move was totally imba and ridiculously effective however you had the choice whether to complete the game pretty much doing that or not :D

You're talking about games where that is the entire point of the game to achieve the objective. On the other hand, I am talking about a game that has been padded to hell just so it's more than a few hours long.

It's the easiest way to win, why draw it out? There's already enough mindless filler in the game to draw it out for me, re: side missions, so I shouldn't have to draw it out. If I have to make my own fun that just says the game isn't fun.

However, I never said Assassin's Creed was not fun. Just repetative, for no good reason.

I had this debate when Bioshock came out, technically you could get all the melee upgrades and just go through the game wrenching everyone, its probably the quickest way to do things. However, its more fun to try the different plasmids and ammos combinations and see what you can do. The same is true with assassins creed. Why would i want to have a combat where its all counters? its nice to through in the odd dodge or grab because it makes it look more cinematic (especially with the excellent camera).

If I don't want to fight there are VERY few occasions where I am not able to escape in good time ... seriously for me the spamming of a single move i.e. the counter attack for endless enemies is NOT fun no wonder you found it repetitive
