like the title says, after shuttingdown my computer automatically restarts again, I've tried most of the suggestions on the net, such as disabling fast boot, but nothing has worked so far, except unplugging the damned thing

i'm running Windows 10 and everything else appears to be running normally, would really appreciate any help on this.

**update**

Turned the computer off at the power socket last night and gone to restart it this morning, but got absolutely nothing.

Opened up the case and the led lights on the motherboard seem to work but nothing else.

Now wondering if it is the PSU or motherboard that's gone rather than a software problem

You can easily test the PSU using the "paperclip" method..

Thanks for the info, pretty sure now that it's the motherboard that's died :(.

Just hope Windows 10 won't give me any trouble when replacing the MB

My advice is to disconnect everything that isnt needed for a minimal startup and see if the pc boots. Disconnect all front usb cables, all but one stick of memory and even the hard drives.

If it still doesn't start up, then make sure the graphics card is seated properly.

If that still doesn't solve it then it probably is the motherboard..

Done what you suggested and still nothing, so I've decided to pull the trigger and buy a new bundle. Was planning on upgrading next year anyway so this gave me an excuse to bring the upgrade forward

Many thanks for the advice, much appreciated.

Out of interest, with Ryzen just released, what did you go for?

I went for a I7 7700k overclocked to 4.8 ghz. Was toying with waiting till Ryzen is released (March 2nd I believe) but in the end I needed my machine up and running as soon as possible, so went with the tried and tested Intel.
