Ive recently done a pretty big upgrade to my PC... well, its pretty much everything other than harddrive.. So this is what I now have:
ASUS P8P67
intel i5 2500k processor
ATI Radeon 6870hd 1gb
4gb RAM
ANTEC 620W HCG PSU
Anyway, heres the problem:
It boots up fine, runs fine, though when its under a relatively heavy load I can hear a series of beeps come from inside the unit. There are nine beeps. It will do 3, then a short (around a second) break, then the next three, short break, then the last 3. It will do this maybe once, then not again, sometimes it will do it more than once, and sometimes it wont do it at all.
My initial reaction was over heating. I monitered the temperatures and the ones I got were:
GPU: 77C max (I DID get higher readings on this.. Almost 90.. but I increased the fan speed using msi afterburner)
CPU: around 60C
Motherboard: This doesnt go much higher than 48C
Im pretty sure that all those temperatures are fine. Ive done no overclocking, and when this series of beeps happen Im not noticing any problems, like slowdown, crashes or artifacts. My second thought was maybe the PSU is struggling but Im sure 620W is enough for a none xfire settup. The PSU also has a high current rating on the 12V rail.
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks
