My PC was running fine until I put an extra HD and another DVD burner in at the weekend.

After that it randomly crashes out of games with a black screen and I have to restart.

I thought it could be a power issue as when the extra HD and DVD drive where attached the the PSU the 12V rail was showing a drop to just below 10 in the bios, this didnt look good so I took out the extra HD and DVD drive thinking maybe my PSU (neohe 430W) could not handle the extra drain, but it's still doing the same thing.

I also thought maybe its a heat related problem but from checking the temps on the G'card CPU and Mobo all looks within the temps that other people have posted.

System Spec.

AMD 4400+ CPU
2GB Muskin Ram
Asus A8N5X Mobo
80GB SATA HD
200GB IDE HD
ATI 1900XTX
SB Audigy SE
Dual layer DVD Burner
Neohe 430W PSU

This system has never been overclocked.

Now I am thinking I may have a fault in the PSU and the power to the G'card is dropping to low during game play.

But if it is any of the above problems why does it let me play for around 10 to 20 mins before crashing.....

Am really depressed now :(

Any idea's people?

So no one has any idea's then?

Oh well :( guess i'll go back to more random testing then......

Have you got another PSU that you can test with? Even borrowing a mates would be better than nothing. A PSU that drops to 10v or anywhere less than about 11.4v(the +- 5% rule) is looking a bit dodgy so you may well need to replace it.

I havent, but I have just ordered a new one from OC (580W) to test with.

Thanks for the reply :)

Sounds like a power prob and 10v is far too low on 12v rail. 580w should be fine for that rig

Thanks ted34.

Just out of interest I have the P150 case which comes with the Neo HE 430W PSU and I have the Asus A8N5X Mobo.

I have found lots of people on other forums that are having problems with this Power supply and Asus Mobo's.

Just thought I would say in case anyone else is having issues with the same PSU Mobo combo.

The only thing i am worried about is in some way this may have damaged my Graphics card, do you think that is a possibility???
