Hello All,

In a bid to save some money i am thinking about selling my PS3 - i literally use it once in a blu moon (see what i did there) - never use it to game, just BluRays but again due to saving i tend to rent rather then buy.

I do have a nift HTPC though and was thinking of just getting a BluRay/HDDVD combo style drive for that to replace the PS3

Spec is

AMD 4400X2
2 GB Ram
600GB HDD

Thoughts - recommendations?

Dont forget that in order to get surround sound through cyberlink you will need to buy the full version which is quite expensive. The oem version you get with the drive will only do 2.0 stereo.

Do you need Vista for Blu-Ray playback on PC?

nope XP works fine

McDaniel that graphics card will be fine, and also has ability to send 5.1 sound through the HDMI lead, also the CPU is fine for it, aas before the upgrade i had a 4200+ which played both blu-ray & HD-DVD
