PC boot stuck in loop!

I changed my bios to fix a mouse issue as it was making my boot time extended by 2 minutes.

Trying to apply this fix in bios I disabled USB support thinking it would boot instantly bypassing my USB mouse and load into windows. This worked fine but I expected my USB items to then be recognised but now they arent.

Now I boot into windows unable to access my bios f2 as my USB keyboard also isnt recognised in either the loading screen or windows!

My problem lies with my motherboard as it doesnt have ps/2 support its only USB. I have tried taking the jumper off which puts it in recovery according the manual but it fails to post (Monitor doesnt come on with my beep) I then took the battery out for 5 minutes and replaced it and got an error saying.

firmare detected cmos bat failures cmos checksum error and something about system time? It then goes into system recovery as I loaded into windows once but now its changed. I reset pc and no-longer get this error so I think its just a warning that cmos had been reset. What can I do? seem to be stuck in a crappy LOOP!

Meanwhile pc boots and the 3 lights come on my keyboard but dont go off! I have tried my other USB keyboard but no luck either! Both are steelseries 7G & Zboard. Stupid xai getting me into this in the first place.

It *might* help if you listed your hardware. Gigabyte motherboards are known to have reboot loop cycle, but then again I/we can't offer any advice till we know what you're running.

Never mind managed to fix it, turns out my manual was wrong. Instead of having no jumper being "recovery" when I put the jumper on the far end which is "Configuration" It then let me boot up and change bios like I should be able to. All sorted.

Phew! glad thats over! still disapointed at having to wait 2 minutes for a boot after a fresh install :/

I had typed so much I forgot to list it rofl
Anyway its sorted but for future ref

Intel dx58so
Intel i7 920
Steelseries 7g keyboard
Steelseries xai mouse

Look for a quick boot option in the bios. It bypasses some of the tests to speed up the boot time. I'm guessing your waiting on the RAM being checked you just cant see it working away behind the splash screen ;)
