My budget's about £1000; I can do a little more, but saving money would be pretty nice too. It'll mainly be used for gaming, and I'm hoping it'll last a while.

Questions:
* Is there anything else I need?
* And can any of that be downgraded without a noticeable dip in quality?

Thanks.

To me it's a bit meh for £1,040.
380X and a TN monitor.

No thank you.

Can you build it yourself?

Not really too sure what I'm looking for other than "high numbers are good" (except the price). I could try building it, I'll have to learn at some point.

We're two weeks away from Polaris launch, sit tight if you can. You'll get a better GPU for your money.

I can hold on for a while; how much more would a Polaris be?

It's the mid range polaris, and potentially around 200 quid.
Performance is currently anyones guess.
Tbh, I'm personally just expecting it to be more or less 390X performance at a lower price point, but I'm a pessimist these days.
