Hi guys,

Building my first pc soon and wondered if you guys can help me out as im a little stuck with picking parts. I have a budget of around £1100, but can stretch a little more if needed, I also wont be needing a monitor. Im hoping to get a 1440p monitor in the future so im not sure which card I should be getting, but as ive only ever used consoles im not fussed about super high FPS as long as games are playable and look great. I will be playing stuff like Rome 2, Battlefield and mabye Arma.

Thanks for any help

For 1100 pounds just get i5 4670K, a decent mobo Z78, a 550/650w psu, 8GB ram, 1 or 2 TB HDD and maybe SSD if budget allow. Graphics card any modern mid range card that has good rep and reviews. If you make a shortlist then people can help you better, oh and say if you never want to overclock so you wont need a K edition cpu or Z78 mobo

Thank you both for your ideas . I think i will probably go for the smaller SSD as I will have a hard time filling that larger one up.

Ive also heard windows 8 isnt great for gaming but im assuming its ok as you both chose it ?

I plan on doing a little overclocking but as ive never done it before I dont want to get in over my head. Is there a standout motherboard in the £100-£140 price range which allows as much?

See Idlemans spec above, offers what you require :)

I would get Asus Z87-PLus at 135 but I am bias because I have two Asus mobos already. You can get more features with MSI, Gigabyte and Asrock tho sometimes it depends what you want. I always want firewire and bluetouth so that makes the list much smaller to pick from.
