Hi,

Can you help me to build gaming PC.
My budget is 2.5-3k to build PC and monitor.

This will be my gaming pc mainly used for FPS games. I want this PC to run games for the next few years without any issues.

thank you

No problem :)

I've added a 3080 Ti to this build, but as mentioned you can buy a Zotac 3080 Ti closer to £1440 elsewhere. I haven't included a case because the one I recommend OcUK don't sell - Fractal Meshify 2 Compact.

I've included a 1000W PSU that should give you plenty of head room in the future and it's not a huge uplift in cost vs a 850W.

If you can make some savings on the GPU then I'd also look at a Gen4 SSD but it's not essential.

Keep in mind the monitor and PSU are on offer so the price can jump up.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £2,979.88 (includes shipping: £0.00)

A 1080p monitor in a 3k build

Zotac 3080 Ti can be had for £1440 elsewhere as mentioned above.

Hey, this is to a 3 K budget. So, that's the build I came up with. But thanks for pointing out the 1080P monitor. The 3080 is still a solid card. Also for a person who loves FPS, 1080P is great for Counter Strike Go :).

I'd look at a 6900XT 16GB over the 3080, it costs less and will likely last longer.

Edit: Full build below.

CPU: Intel Core i7-12700K 3.6 GHz 12-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 280 72.8 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard: MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4 ATX LGA1700 Motherboard
Memory: Patriot Viper Steel 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory
Storage: Crucial P5 2 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive
Video Card: MSI Radeon RX 6900 XT 16 GB GAMING X TRIO Video Card
Case: NZXT H510 Flow ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: SeaSonic FOCUS GX 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
Monitor: Gigabyte M32U 31.5" 3840x2160 144 Hz Monitor

Total: ~£2895

I've gone with prioritising a 4K 144Hz display, and a GPU to support it, no RGB nonsense, a decent case, good PSU and a solid motherboard/CPU/RAM combo. A full 2TB of NVMe storage on one drive (middle of the road) leaving a couple of slots for future additions if you want/need them.

You CANNOT upgrade your monitor once you have bought it without selling it and buying another one, and who wants to play at 1080p/1440p on a GPU that costs more than 1/3 your budget.

Also white is dirt magnet...
There's black version of that case.
Anyway unless you're going to dump the case if couple years, it should be chosen well and not just for gashion.
So any size and other expandability requirements?

PSU's colour again doesn't even matter in fashion cases hiding them from sight and making PC building process harder with less contiguous open space.
(guess many people have garbage PSUs they're shamed of...)

At that price level you should be aiming for 2TB SSD.
1TB drive will be half full after couple big games and space you don't have has no speed.
So far better to take more moderately per GB priced bigger capacity drive, than small expensive drive.

As for monitor while that Odyssey G7 is one of the couple exceptions to VA liquid crystal's crappy dark shade transitions, Samsung's marketing caused major issue:
Normal curve wouldn't issue, but marketing's arse bent it double and as result curvature is insane.
And hence to get natural looking image in most uses, that heavily curved image plane should be taken into account in rendering, or projection.
Otherwise it's like taking piece of paper with text on it and curving it.
While covering 32" model, same problems of excessive curve apply to 27":

Here is an updated build with the 6900XT and a 2TB SSD. I've added the Corsair 4000D as it's a good sized case for all these components. You may want to add a couple PWM fans for intake as the included ones I believe are not PWM. AIO can be mounted to the top of the case for exhaust.

Is 6900xt better choice for games than rtx 3080?

Depends on the games tbh.

At 1440p for example Warzone is 15% faster on the 6900XT. 3080 Ti has a better feature set with DLSS and stronger RT performance, depends if those things matter to you.

It's obviously even better than that since the image is of a 3080 Ti vs a 6900 XT, the Ti is closer to a 3090 than a 3080. Also I think you need to look at the initial cost, as little as £1200 for the 6900XT, the length of time you'll get good driver support, which seems to be longer for AMD historically, and the second hand value, which the 3080 will likely be slightly superior, but £200+ more upfront.

On a £3k budget, spending £1400 one component is madness, but sadly those are the prices right now. So any losses in the future will be magnified *IF* prices ever get back to what they should have been e.g. a 3080 AIB at £799.

I've been pushing OP for the 3080 Ti from the start as they can be had for £1400ish which similar cost to the 6900 XT.

OP I suggest looking at benchmarks for the specific games you play as that may help.

Why do you offer only Intel systems?

The Intel 12600K is a very strong gaming chip, and this is purely a gaming desktop. 1700 socket is also new so will allow for future upgrades.

Not sure why people are suggesting 4k monitors for the OP who plays FPS.
