Hey everyone, I am new to the boards so hopefully this doesn't break any rules and I will not get beach slapped.

I'm just after some help if possible ... I am ok with working on PC's and the like, but speccing a new build is something I haven't done before.

I have a budget of about 1K (preferably £800 - £900 however) and i'm looking to build the best pc possible. The PC will be used mainly for Video editing, gaming and also music production.

I can see from the thread above the parts that are required, but, what would you build if you had £1k to make a beast with? all tips / advice would be greatly welcomed.

Thank you for your time and thanks in advance !!

Nick :)

Thanks Stulid,

I realise i should have been more specific!

Tower - something with a window and funky LED's if possible - Preferably with a Decent PSU, however once built I would not really have any funding for future upgrades so hopefully will be built to last a while.
OS I would need Win7 (basic editions fine)
Keyboard - not needed
Etc :

I would also like lots of space (i notices the 3TB drives - 2 of these would be helpful but not sure if it'd eat more into the budget!).

I would also prefer to stick to a fast I5 processor rather than make the jump to I7.

Other than that, 16GB of decent ram and adequate cooling for the system.

I currently have an aincient Phenom x3, 16GB ram and a GT430 ... so hopefully whatever i get its going to be tons better.

Alternatively, even assistance in picking a pre-built gaming PC may help me out ... :D Thanks again!

Nick
