Evening chaps!

Apologies for another 'help me with my build' thread!

My Overclockers PC I bought 3 years ago is starting to get a bit old now, and following a couple of break-downs recently and some general issues, I've decided I'm going to shell out for an upgrade, and this time I'm going to build it myself!...

So, I've had a good look around and spent a few nights thrashing out some systems, and this is what I've come up with. I'm looking for something around the £2k mark that will be good for at least the next four years, and able to easily play the latest games etc.

Here's what I've come up with, all comments welcome!...

Also, any other bits that you think I’ll need, thermal materials etc, then please let me know and I’ll add them to my basket!

Many thanks in advance for your help!

Paul

Thats better, cheers.

That build is fine, will work/good selection of bits etc etc.

But a £260 sandybridge 2600K is almost as fast at most things.

Cheers for your comments.

So if I switch out the CPU for:

Intel Core i7-2600K 3.40GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-358-IN&tool=3

with this motherboard?:

Gigabyte P67A-UD5 Intel P67 Chipset (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge)
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-311-GI&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1906

As for the RAM, would these be a better fit?:
Patriot Viper Xtreme 8GB (2x4GB) PC3-16000C9 2000MHz Dual Channel Kit
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-050-PA&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=

Cheers for your help
Paul

Thanks for that. So final questions, when you say 'not better', do you mean much worse, or just not better?

And with all the above, with the necessary cables be supplied, or would I have to buy any?

Is all of the above compatable, withit overclocking anything to start with?

I've also added Win 7 to the above.

Thanks again
Paul

everything is compatible, and the Megahalem cooler will cool better, but the H70 isnt a slouch either, and will still get you to some high speeds.

if you wanted to save £30 more, this HDD - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-082-SA is just as fast as the WD Black.

Also, this palit GTX580 - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-153-OK&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1812 is the same price, but has 3GB of ram.

can you re-upload a new picture of the basket, just so everything is crystal clear.
