Two HDD's? whats that for?

The two is the latest change. I originally just had a 2TB WD Black (for the faster write times for moving around my photos etc) but realised that for the same price I could get a WD Black 1TB and a 2TB Seagate Barracuda.

So I could have the WD for my photos and a few other things and the Seagate for everything else. I did consider having 240GB SSD and the Seagate 2TB (also for around the same price) which would help with the write time but would be a pain with file paths for editing. Is this logic stupid? It was just a thought I had but now not sure if it makes complete sense as this seems to be something people are picking up on.

And I am sure you can get a nice alternative board

Id def go for one of the above boards from stulid

I did originally have the Gigabyte GA-Z87X-D3H which I loved but wanted to take advantage of the new chipset. What bugs me is none of the new boards have two front USB3 headers (for the case and the card reader) and my only options for this were the board I chose or the MSI Z97-G55 SLI unless I start routing cables outside and into the back which I am not keen on.

Do you absolutely need a bluray capable optical drive? You could shave a few quid off by getting a more basic drive.

This is one of my unsure parts as I would like to be able to play Blu-Rays though it is not essential. I did have another cheaper just read one lined up but has since become unavailable so this was the cheapest I could find. But yeah, I am unsure.

Thanks for all your help guys, please let me know if I am being stupid or have any further suggestions.

I think one big one is all you want, the WD Blacks are not a significant improvement other other drives, thats where SSD's come in and are a noticeable improvement.
