Hello all, need a bit of help for a PC build for a friend. He's in between deciding to buy an Xbox One or a PC. I've been trying to convince him to get a PC instead ( I own an Xbox One so not biased )

His budget is £650 so lets see if we can get some nice builds and convince him :)

OS is not needed neither is a monitor, keyboard and mouse.

I believe a motherboard with better VRM is needed as those 6/8 core CPU's need good VRM to get stable overclocks
 
Yes, i would only start with the R2.0 Asus/Giga UD3P for those and go upward s from there.

You have to drop from the 280X to a 270X but theres money left over to go up from the 6 core chip to an 8 core.

I definitely think a PC is the smarter way to go. I had an Xbox One and actually sold it, it's not a bad machine (it is a little disappointing) and am now going for a PC with another Xbox One in the future as I have a PS4 and, of the two, there's no doubt the PS4 is in a better place at the moment.

I'm not going to recommend a build because so many others here are really good, but I've always been impressed by Stulid's knowledge and helpfulness, so I'd definitely be paying attention to what he says (though others are also knowledgeable too of course.)
