Could save a few pounds with this kit.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £65.09
(includes shipping: £11.10)

Also worth thinking if you def need the dvd drive. If you're only using it for the windows install there are ways around it. eg. Downloading it on another system and putting it on a memory stick for the install, can still use the key from the DVD.

Looks a fairly solid build for the money :)

I would go with the below, I built my Mrs the exact same system (minus the gfx card as she doesn't game) and its brilliant.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £643.94
(includes shipping: £0.00)

Have a look around the net for a windows key - you can get them for around £20. I've forgone the mech drive for a larger ssd. The motherboard only has two ram slots so I have specified 16gb off the bat to save having to swap it out later - its 2400mhz but it will run at 2133mhz in the system due to the motherboard's memory support - it just happens to be cheaper than the 2133mhz stuff.

I left out the optical drive but you could add a cheap one in.

Oh and i5 :)

Hope this helps!

Looking at helping a friend build a PCs. They have around a 650 pound budget, and don't need a monitor, mouse or keyboard.

What are they going to be doing with the PC? Is this a gaming PC or an office / MS Office PC or what?

i5 should be minimum on your list, the RX 470 would probably help recoup some of the cost, as would getting windows from an auction site. Does he really need a DVD-RW?

As said above you could pick-up a windows key for about £20, and spare mechanical hard-drives are sitting on many peoples shelves.. i have 6-8 drives i dont use all around 500gb-4tb

This spec won't work unfortunately - the case is mATX and the motherboard is ATX (too big).

You need DDR4 with that motherboard. A single 8GB stick will allow for another 8GB in the future.

The V300 SSD is pretty bad. I would swap it out.

Also did you mean to add 2 hard drives ?

I would only buy Windows from a genuine seller such as ocuk.

Hi again,

Couple more questions on this one. My friend can now get a used 980 ti from a friend for 250. So he wants to get that now. It is the msi gaming one.

Will it fit in a fractal design 1100 on the motherboard above?

I was going to up the psu as well. What will be the cheapest psu that will work with this set up?

Thanks once again
