Cousin bought a load of parts from a "Friend" turns out that this friend didn't mount the motherboard correctly causing it to short.

Damage so far discovered. - Blown cap's on the Mobo.
CPU no longer Posts I believe this to be shorted.
SSD & HDD Dead.
Ram Dead.

As he has a budget of around £500 I've tried to keep the costs as low as possible, I've offered to provide him with 128gb Msata SSD in a PCI-E x1 controller.
1x 560ti

This is whats going to be purchased!

Intel Core i5-4690 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor £155.99
Asus Maximus VII Ranger Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £129.95
Avexir Core White Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz £61.99
Antec Kúhler H2O 950 Liquid CPU Cooler £37.99

Any other suggestions would be welcome - But this is the build as it stands - I currently have a spare Corsair RM750 also which will be going into his machine!

It is a 4690k (I removed the K by accident!)

It's a ATX Case (Not sure on the Make and Model as of yet so I need to confirm this!)

Ahh ok. rest of the spec looks fine. Only thing I would maybe do is try and sell the 560ti and get something slightly more modern, then just add that to your totally, maybe get a slightly gpu Mobo and aim for an R9 280.

Yeah he's actually looking to save for a 780, so im tempted to point him down the R9 290x thinking about it, but he's not going to be able to afford that until October / December and he needs the pc soon for work etc.

But definitely something I will look at recommending thanks!

The 290x is basically an overclocked 290, and those went down to £260 recently so its very affordable, and its still a tad faster then the 780. Might be good too push him towards that, the are currently at £290~. But yeah everything seems spot on.
