My PSU has plenty of molex cables coming out, however the fan controller is not connected to anything but the fans. It came attached to the case with all but one of the fans plugged into it.

Edit: I don't know if it will help (and I don't know overclockers rules of posting links) but on google images, if you type "nzxt phantom 630 fan controller connections", the very first image is exactly what I've got.

I have opened up to computer and have found the right cables, which were already plugged in correctly. Something I have noticed is the molex only has 3 wires running from it and has one of the central 2 wires of the four missing completely (including the pin). Does this sound right? I have traced it back to the top panel and there is no wire at all (it hasn't just come loose).

If this is the reason why the fan controller is not working, do I have to send the case back or is it possible to get hold of a replacement? The cable looks to be a 7 pinned end splitting two ways into:

A. A three pin connector leading into the controller and
B. A molex to be connected to the power supply.

It was connected all along, which is why I couldn't find it originally. The manual says the pins in order are "12v, gnd, gnd, 5v". Do they need to be grounded seperately as, if the 12v isn't grounded, this would explain why the fans won't work but the LEDs do?

Since I'm giving up fixing it, I have one last question. My motherboard has 3 "sys fan" ports (one of which is where I've currently got my side fan plugged in). Would you recommend disconnecting 3 of the fans out of the controller and plugging them into the motherboard or could this reduce the performance of the motherboard?

Changed it. Since I was saying how bad they were, I thought it would have been okay. Cheers, anyway. The lights on the control panel work fine (i.e. 3 lights for high, 2 for medium, 1 for low).

If I had paid £150 for a case with a fan controller, I would`nt expect to have to use the mobo in order for the fans to work and being left with a fancy led controller. All light and no fans.

I've sent them a couple of emails. Hopefully they'll get back

I thought I'd connect to the online chat with NZXT (although only the US one was open). They guy I spoke to has said he'll get a replacement fan hub shipped out to me from the UK department. Their customer service is supposed to be bad though so I'm not getting my hopes up just yet. At least they were better than the customer service of the other guys (insert competitor's name here). It's safe to say I'll only be using OCuk in future.
