Hi Folks!

I have built a few systems in the past but nothing in the last 3 years and since then I have lost contact with all the latest technology.

I am thinking of knocking up the following and needed to know if anyone would suggest and changes or ammendments, I don't really demand to much in terms of gaming but would like it to be based on the ASUS Pundit as stocked by OcUK.

My current monitor only has VGA and HDMI output so something that would possibly utilise that would be great.

Anyway I was looking at the Athlon x2 6000 and the 4gb Memory and the Radeon HD3650 (?) in terms of hard drive I don't know and sound? usually never used anything but the onboard sound on all my past built systems

I have around £400 - £450 and and like mentioned don't need the monitor, just purchased one to use along side my PS3.

Please help, I have been looking at some HP Pre Built systems but thought i'd see if better could be built for the money.

I have also done a bit of overclocking in the past so if there is any difference in buying a lower spec chip that will come upto the 6000 speeds go for it.

Please feel free to recommend.

I just want something slimline looking - looks similiar to a PS3 from what I can make out of it.

I already have the mouse, keyboard and the O.S I should be able to get through the works account.

yes indeed... i was wondering about the psu and assuming that cpu's must have come down in power consumption?

I would consider other options... i am to take a ATX just want its slimline or is that asking a lots from the budget.

yeh that pundit thing limits you really bad, it has a really weak power supply and the motherboard isnt very upgradable. You could built something pretty nice with that price range just dont use that case, if you want something stylish there are loads of nice cases out there anything by lian li is pretty sleek. If you are into the whole white clean look this case is a bargain http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-021-AK&groupid=701&catid=7&subcat=

I would want something black or silver, would keep it in spec with my monitor, printer, surround sound etc.

thanks for the heads up.

I expect someone can improve on this but.

Thanks very much...

will that video card plug into my monitor? I only have VGA and HDMI sockets.

I have never owned an Intel spec, without going in to it in to much detail is it my best bet considering my budget?

That system looks fine to me although are there meant to be two DVDRWs in there?

The video card will plug into your monitor although you may need a DVI-VGA adapter to do so (usually one is included in the box but I'm not 100% if it is with OcUK branded cards) or go with the HDMI option that AcidHell2 suggests.
