I am looking to build my new PC over the next month or so, struggling to pick out a monitor and just wouldn't mind some general advice on the build I have in mind.

  • CPU - Ryzen 7 9800X3D (Already ordered from ocuk)
  • Cooler - Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120
  • Mobo - MSI B650 Gaming Plus Wifi ATX AM5
  • RAM - Corsair Vengeance 32GB (2x16) DDR5 6000 CL30
  • HDD - Samsung 990 Pro 2TB
  • GPU - Nvidia 5080 (If I can grab one on release day)
  • Case - Corsair 5000D Airflow
  • PSU - Corsair RM850e Gold
I am really struggling with monitors and don't really know what to go for. Its just for gaming so I'm looking for a 27inch 1440p OLED 240+ HZ but yeah there seems to be a lot of options and I'm kind of wondering if I should hold off on the monitor incase there's some price drops post CES, seems a little harder to gauge what is being announced outside of the flagship 4k's. Budget is in the £400-£800 range

I play a lot of different games but am fond of a few games of Counterstrike and some wow so really want to have > 200hz.

Solid options for your build , there are cheaper options for the m2 drive if you want to save a little.

Mite be worth stretching for a 1000w PSU if you ever get a 5090.

Monitor I would do a separate Thread in the monitor section of the forum.
