Hello guys, ive made a few build requests in the past and built them without showing you the final product :P

So i hope to build this computer and record my process and share it.
This computer is for myself, using it for high end gaming and general use.

Budget is £1500
This is what i got so far. All suggestions are welcome :)

planning to add another 5850 and 2 more HD's when i get the cash :)

idk about the cooling but help if you can.

Thanks, Rob

Absolute monster of a PSU there.
Are you planning to crossfire later on? Is it crossfire capable, I know it has the watts, but seems like overkill for what you want.
Are you planning to OC?

That power supply will need to be changed if you decide to get a new case in a couple of years, I'd suggest looking at a Corsair or one of the Antec Truepower models (currently out of stock).

Also i7 alternative to the spec which would be a bit faster in games:

I do hope you are planning on using windows 64bit! 32bit version only uses 4gig of ram.

To be honest for gaming very few games will utilise all 6 cores most will only use 2. I would suggest a lower processor (quad core black edition), the board is for overclockers and the multipler unlocked BE's would make life easier on that front.

Put the money saved towards a better harddrive. With a WD Raptor HDD at 10,000rpm you will notice a big difference in load times, you can always add another cheap large HDD later for storage.

All in all not a bad choice of parts my friend. Good luck with your build, keep us posted!

Im OCing to about 4.0 if its stable. Using windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. (already got it)
I want to try out AMD for a change, maybe go for the 3.2.
Mobo is crossfire capable.
The tri channel memory was my bad (did this at 3am :P)
i was thinking about this for an alternative here not sure if it means only for intel processors.

also the mobo is very sata 3 :P

also i dont mind case change :) i really want this build to be spot on and ready for future upgrades.

Thanks, Rob

I updated my post sorry about that.
I would go for a more powerful psu as Ati recommend 600w for crossfire 5850's

that psu is 650? :P

thanks for the cooler suggestion.

Yep its 650 which will probably give you atleast 700 but most people will generally go for a bit over it also leaves you with more room for upgrades, Most people will also recommend a modular psu

I know you said you want to go AMD but the i7 out performs the 1090t is most area, even more so in games. Also you sohuld beable to get the i7 to 4GHz without too much of a problem where as the 1090t might struggle to go that high.

I think the his 5850 for the same price has a better cooler (better for overclocking). I left as much as i can the same as your spec, I'm not 100% if that ram and mobo are the best for your budget, but should perform fine, some opinions?

i like that, saying that intel performs better then the 6 core and it more in budget, i think i will go for an i7 :)

changed to Corsair TX 650W ATX :)
