What are your views on this build? I already have a Corsair AX1200i PSU. I was hoping to get the total more around the £1600 mark but I am willing to wait longer.

Also would this build be good enough to run a 4k monitor or do I need an extra graphics card?

This will be my first build, I am feeling confident putting it all together it is just the Bios part that I am not to knowledgeable about!

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Is this a gaming pc? It will not be able to run 4k at good FPS. If you are wanting to get the price down to £1600 i would not recommend going X99 due to the price, I would get a 4790k and OC it to save some money.

Are we talking about the looks of the case?!

I will be using it for Adobe Premiere Pro & Adobe After Effects. Maybe gaming in the future. I mainly wanted a future proof build that would not need an upgrade for a long time. But I am very keen for it to run a 4k monitor.

Here's an X99/SLI 970's 4K munching monster :D

£300 more though...

Some great ideas thank you all. I do like the look of this one. But would this be good enough for video editing and animation as my first intentions are not using it for gaming.

I really wanted a future proof build which was why I was heading towards DDR4 but the price right now does seem silly.

I can't tell you whether Z97 is enough or if you need to plump up the extra £300 for X99.

You could always drop a 970 for now and have the X99 rig... Then in time as you want to game at 4K stick another 970 in.
