hi guys

i need some help with my PC build its my first go and specing and making a pc my self and i was wonding what graphics card to get? what PSU amd what mother board/CPU to get so far here is my spec also i would like to have DDR3 in my rig and a GTX graphics card;) is there any DRR3 MOBos/CPUs intel sell other then the i7 and i have a bugdet of about £1000

AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition 3.2GHz

Asus Crosshair III Formula AMD 790FX (Socket AM3) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard

Corsair Dominator XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 X2

Well you could sell your GTX and get a ATI 4890, That asus board you mentioned will come Ati crossfire ready, so it would make more sense to buy the 4890 so you could add a second later if you needed. What resolution will you be using? as at a small resolution the 4890 will be overkill!

You could also wait for the ATI 5 series cards, but god knows when they are out!

The Corsair TX and HX series psus are excellent and come with 5 year guarantees, pricey though but worth every penny! Well thats my opinion anyway!

its on a 1650x1050 screen and i dont like ATI
 
well I would go with an nvidia sli board for a bit of future proof, or if you want to stick with the asus board then look at the 295 nvidia card, but obviously you cant run SLI if needed in the future!

I take it there was no bios update for your current board to support the phenom II?

no i would get a mobo that supports SLI but i cant find one that supports SLI and DDR3 so i may just grab my self a gtx295 or treat my self and get the mars GTX 295
