Looking to spend just over £1000 and was hoping people could spec me a complete system excluding mouse, keyboard and monitor.

The components I want included are a good GTX 780 graphics card, best value for money, with a good cooler and quiet, 8GB of fast main system memory, Primary Samsung SSD 250GB, Secondary HDD 2TB or 3TB, good quality DVD Rewriter, Intel Core i7-4770k or Intel i5-4670k, is the i7 worth it primarily for a games/media/internet machine?, Good quality motherboard with SLI capability, Sunflower 750W PSU, Good sized case that has good airflow and keeps components cool with enough room for SLI in the future, and don't forget a good CPU cooler for overclocking, also Windows 8.1 64 bit.

Just want to see who can keep it as near to £1000 as possible.

Using a 3-month trial of Windows 8.1 would take a bit of pressure off the budget, but you're still asking a lot for the money:

The PSU is on Today Only offer and the RAM will sell out very very quickly at that price, so you'll have to buy them soon if you want them.

Is the GTX 780 best value for money? The R9 290 is cheaper and offers similar performance I think it would be the better option here

The i7 is not worth the extra money if you are going to be using the machine for primary gaming as the i7 cores are prefered for more demanding processing applications like rendering and hyperthreading etc. The i5 4670k overclocked with a nice cooler will be the same.

The sunflower PSU is decent, but not as good as the seasonic 750w full modular, especially as you'll be saving £25.

The motherboard has E2200 Series speeds up and makes repsonse times relitively faster for gaming etc, aswell as having 'Creative' Sound (like Creative Sound Blaster etc.)

The graphic card provided has a high clock rate above 1k, which makes it a beast.

+ on this build the CPU has 3 Year warrenty.

This is as close as I could get to 1k, without a cooler the build comes to £1,029.83 give or take the shipping. + £50 for a deecent cooler.

I say this is the nicest build simpley because its Intel/Nvidia, I love the drivers which nvidia have and I think they are more visualy pleasing than AMD.

EDIT: - FORGOT THE SSD - ADD WHICH SIZE YOU WANT TO BASKET.

You forgot the SSD
The Thermaltake case is not very good. The Ronin is much better.
That gpu is a triple slot so it would be very close to the second card in sli.

Sorry about that.

I do not know where you are getting your information from, but the width of the TT is actualy larger then the Ronin.
And to answer the question, the TT WILL fit any large card aswell in SLI as you can remove SSD rack. (up to 41cm)

look here -

apart from that, im struggling to see what you are comparing from which the ronin is better?

the TT case is a lot better in terms of build quality and airflow.
