Just a quick one really. I've been tasked with speccing up a PC for around £1000 - £1100. This is what I have come up with.

What do people think about this?

It has to be Intel for the CPU & Nvidia for the graphics card the guy is anal & won't have any other.

Main reason for 16gb was to future proof it really more than anything. Should have added he likes the case he chose too haha.

That looks okay though I'll see what he thinks.

Main thing really I was concerned about was the PSU bit out of the loop with those things!

EVGA a good brand for PSUs? I've only ever used Enermax/OCZ/Corsairs heh.

EVGA Psu gets my vote, I run one they are brilliant.

Tbh with the RAM I just picked one of the "this week only" as I was being lazy.

Drop the ram to decads one and pick the EVGA 750W.

Dropped the PSU to the EVGA one & added the 250GB SSD.

When you say 16gb isn't needed anytime soon how long do you think it'll be before it becomes the norm? My laptop & Desktop start to feel sluggish with just 6GB in.

Is this a gaming pc ?

Multi-purpose I'd say :)

dacads & JOSH86 thanks, he's fairly adamant on the 16gb ram too. Always a spanner in the works :D

This is what we have at the moment.

More than anything really is will all of it work together ok that is the main concern.

SLI isn't really a concern, I imagine he'd upgrade to a different GPU when the time needs, Main reason for choosing that bundle is the overclock already being done, I don't have time to make sure my own overclocks will be stable so better to have something cherry picked out. Will 650w have enough headroom should he want to add more HDD's etc in the future?

I'll see if he can wait a few weeks but he has that itchy trigger finger to get something new & shiny :D

Well it is all built & he seems impressed with it so can't complain too much. I did try & build up one from your list Lee but came out more expensive than it should have done, plus the dimwit already ordered it!

Anyhow heres the finished build

One thing I will say is that heatsink is an absolute ***** to install! But it keeps everything so cool!
