Hello, Over the fast month or so i've noticed my PC mazing a loud buzzing noise during the day. (Im pretty abysmal when it comes to this stuff so bear with me)

I've tracked the problem down (i think) to either being the CPU or the Graphics Card, It seems more likely to be the graphics card as when im not playing a game it seems to just be a slight hum but if I turn on a game and the temperature of the card goes over 80 its a very loud buzzing noise that could be heard almost a room away from the PC. Like I say this could be either the graphics card or the CPU, I've tried cleaning the fans for both but I don't have any air cans left in the house. Is this normal? It seems to only happen over the past month if i have it on for more than 2 hours but that might just be because of the weather currently. the thing that makes it more annoying is I can hear the buzz very faintly on the PC after cleaning it... even when im not on a game. Im not sure if thats just because im listening for it.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that if I put my hands on the side of the PC, the buzzing noise stops until I take them off, If I put my hand near the back between the CPU and GPU when its not buzzing is starts to buzz (Not sure if this is any use)

EDIT2: I should probably say that the GPU is GTX 560 and the CPU is a AMD Phenom II X6
Any suggestions of advice would be greatly appreciated and again sorry for the lack of knowledge here :p

if it stops when you put your hands on the side of the case its the case side panels that are vibrating

Wow I never really thought it could be the case... It only seems to stop on certain areas of the case... If the case was the problem would I just screw both panels on again?... Sorry if any typo's doing this from a tablet

yeah, maybe flex them slightly inward or outward and bolt them back on and see if it stops or pack them with small piece of foam or bubblewrap, dont put it anywhere that gets hot though

Do you have more than one mechanical HDD?

Mine makes a 'buzzing' sound until my mechanical drives power down after 2 minutes, it's by no means loud though and you've got to be picky to hear it but that could depend on the case?

If so, its possibly the drives resonating.

Mine also stops if you press the sides of the case in when the drives are spinning.

Buzzing noise can also be associated with coil whine - often resolved by enabling vsync - although from what you've described above this doesn't sound like the issue.

Ok i checked this out this morning, took the side of my pc off while playing a game and it does seem to be one of the side panels... I think its hitting the kinda of plated area that my motherboard is attatched too. theres little dents facing outwards towards the case and i feel like it might be vibrating off those... anybody got any advice for me? again, apologies for my abysmal knowledge :p
