PC case with external dvdrom

There isnt any need for a CD installation if you have a Windows product key and an older computer with internet access. If you have that, just download the latest ISO from Microsoft & install it onto a pendrive.
If not, do you still have an old optical drive kicking around? just plug that in & use it once for the W10 installation. Done that a few times with older MS windows in the past.

Depending on the age of the W10 disc and the speed of the DVD drive it will take a fair bit longer, depending on how many updates it will need to bring it up to date along with the many times it will have to reboot as well. With the latest ISO from MS it will take less time as there is less updates.

Hello

Im thinking of building a PC soon, im going to buy a case without a DVDROM 3.5" bay. And buy a external dvd rom

Could I use this to install Windows10 and install PC games?

Also, as everyone has said, if you don't have an external drive yet don't bother buying one if it's only to install Windows.
I've had one for years and use it to install Windows on Netbooks and laptops without DVD drives rather than bothering to create the USB installer. It's probably slower installing from an external dvd drive but I'm not usually in a hurry in these cases...

I have just done this myself ready for next week. It took less than 20min.

Go to MS webpage as above
Download the media creation tool
Insert a blank USB drive, with at least 8GB
Run the MS tool.
