Spec as sig, do you think its worth me "investing" in...

Zalman VF900-CU Quiet Copper VGA Cooler (SY-008-ZA) 1
£20.95 £20.95
AC-000-AC Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound (3.5g) (AC-000-AC) 1
£5.95 £5.95
FG-024-AK Akasa AK-183-L2B Ultra Quiet 120mm Fan - 3 pin (FG-024-AK) 1
£9.95 £9.95
Subtotal £36.85
VAT £6.45
Total £43.30

I just want my pc to run cooler (and quieter) will these have much of an impact? - the x1800xt stock fan is annoying me!

Should have a huge impact on noise and a decent impact on cooling performance. You may find that the zalman vga cooler comes with thermal paste so you don't really need the arctic silver 5.

Have you checked to see that the current gpu cooler is the main cause of the noise?
i.e stop the fan in it for a second and see whats the next loudest thing.

The zalman would come with thermal paste allready I think, a very small tube but enough for a few applications.

Dont the gpu fans allow variable speed. My gfx doesnt so I 5 volt modded it and stuck a great big load dependant (bios speed controlled) case fan blowing right onto it, according to ATItool it clocks better then ever without artifacts and its silent when not used

I included the arctic silver 5 mainly for the cpu, it's been idling at around 34 and want some more overclocking headroom. The gpu fan is definitely the culprit of the noise, seen the reviews on the zalman and it's supposed to lower both temps and noise quite a bit, but has anyone had any 'real world' experience with it?

Cheers
