Hi Guys,

Was just enjoying a game of Tribes Ascend when my whole PC just crashed. No idea why, Tried rebooting but it just flickered fans spinned for less than a second no idea why,

Just unplugged everything and everything is working, HDD's, Graphics card but when I plug the Two 4 pin connectors in the top of the board for the CPU it doesnt work?

Does anyone know what this means? is the CPU ****** or the board or what?

please help!!

Tried that, Still Nothing =/ Take the G-Card out completely, Nothing plugged into the CPU other than the Default 24pin and the two sets of 4pin x2 for CPU,
Tried using the other 4pinx2 but still the flickering but no actual boot =/ What should I do?

=(

Tried the PSU In my brothers Quad core Q6600 with Gefore 9800GTX and it boots fine,G-card CPU everything, Maybe the CPU and board are fried then? =(

Nope, Inspected the board with a Magnifying glass front and back and I cannot identify anything out of the ordinary, no burns, nothing, I guess its RMA time =/

It was bought from ****** so not sure what there returns policy is like past 1 year but the board does have a 3-5 year manufacturers warranty but hopefully I can get a refund of a decent amount and get a new Z77 board because this board has been **** since I bought the damn thing.

Thanks for the help guys

Also I will be buying a new board from OCUK because nothing I have bought from you guys has ever broken =),

An I have the 10% off coupon =D

sound like good idea contact manufacturers and see what ya can do they might offer you newer board or refund :D

Yeah, Gotta wait till monday to call competitor to OCUK, Hopefully It'll be refunded and quickly so I can get that motherboard order in before saturday!

Just wondering if you tried with a single memory module in different slots, also can you test his GPU in your system.

Yeah, Tried the single 4gb stick in each dimm slot and and some older G.skill ram in each slot, Still nothing, Yeah I could try his GPU, I still think it wont do anything, Im not sure if its just the Mobo, It still has the green lights on for power and the green light for the TPU, Does that mean it could just be the CPU?

Had a look around on the Net and people seem to think that you can get your motherboard to show a message saying "no CPU installed", Which for me would be a good way to determine if the chip or the board are fried. Tried the board and can't get anything out of it with the two 4pins connected. Without all the fans spin and the G-card turns on e.t.c.

So even without the chip the board still wont boot properly. Wont bother contacting Intel about the chip until I get a board to test this old chip with

Eurgh still no word from ******, Was hoping to order a board from OCUK with my 10% off but it ends tommorow =/

Looks like i'll be shopping elsewhere! =/

Got some response from e Buyer finally, they wanted me to send the damn I/O shield to them to finish processing it, and after 5 emails of which they said the same thing the advisor gave in and said it will be refunded =D,

Now to get the moneh's and buy a new board =D, Hopefully the chip isn't dead as well =)
