Hi guys,

I left my PC on overnight downloading (see specs in my sig. albeit I'm not OC'ing atm so my i5 is at stock!) but when I came to it this morning, the PC itself was still powered up (lights on, fans going etc) but there was no signal to my monitor and nothing made it "wake up" - tried keys, mouse etc and I ended up doing a hard reset!!

Is there any way I can find out what the problem was??

Thanks....

Thanks for the replies guys - here is what I get in my event viewer:

Question now is........ what the hell does it mean???

Can anyone advise how I find out what caused it??

Thanks..........

OK, now I'm worried!!! :(

Its just frozen again whilst watching a video!!!

All the power etc stayed on and the screen just froze with the video still on the screen (obviously stopped tho!)

My event viewer is as follows:

It would appear this has happened 3 times in the last month with seemingly no pattern!?!?!

Has anyone got any advice on how to combat this??

What does the high performance setting actually change??

At the moment I'm on "Balanced" and its set to turn off the display after 15 mins and to never put the computer to sleep!

Why would it make any difference making the PC run at max settings? Surely that would just stress it more and potentially make it crash/freeze more wouldnt it???!!!

Yes, yes and as far as I know!

I'd be really surprised if it was PSU related, I've had the same OZC Modstream for well over a year and never had anything like this before!?!?!

Is there any way I can check this??

Also, if this is possibly software related (you mentioned drivers) would a full re-install make a difference??

Thanks for the continued help!

I'll give it a go but as per my post above, the "computer to sleep" option is already set to never, its just the display one that is set to 15 mins - how would this make any difference?
