Hi Guys,

A month ago, built myself a pc from scratch from oc.

Specs in sig.

Two days ago was the first time its crashed, screen just went a dull shade of brown, and only thing that could be done was hold down power button and turn it off. It had problems rebooting, a couple of times it told me no boot media found. THen it booted fine.

Did the same thing again an hour later.

Its now happened again today, so I know something isnt right somewhere. Today when it crashed the screen went brown with some vertical stripes, only thing to do was kill the pc.

Any ideas whats causing this? Or how i could check what might be at fault?

Thanks for any advice

When you said no boot media found I instantly thought SSD/HDD (where ever your operating system is installed).

But then when I read the bit about the screen going brown with vertical stripes I thought it could have been the graphics card. I'm not really an expert with this type of thing but just a couple of ideas.

Yeh SSD, was my thought because of the boot issue, but its booted fine the last 2 crashes.

And if it was graphics, the pc would still function? I tried hitting the power button but it did nothing, I assume if it was graphics the pc wouldve still shutdown?

Its got me completely stumped

could always try using the build in GFX just pull out the GPU and stick the monitor lead into the back of the motherboard and see if the problem continues. if it does its something else.....

I had a similar problem, my screen would just show vertical coloured lines this would only happen in games, I updated my graphics card bios and it cured the problem for me
