Not blaming the card or anything.

I installed the card earlier, everything seemed fine. I uninstall CCC etc. Installed nvidia drivers all seemed fine. Games are great however after 5-10 mins of gaming my whole PC crashes and I don't have a clue why :(

Can blue screen sometimes other times just freezes completely.

Any idea with what limited info I've given?

Use DriverSweeper or something like that to remove CCC completely
Make sure your PSU is sufficient
Make sure GPU and CPU are not overheating (use something like HWMonitor for temps check)

Thanks mate, will give that a shot. Not had an issue with the CPU before but I could try under clocking it as it's at 4.2 atm (i7)

PSU should be fine it's 1150w.

Ok it was at about 78 before it crashed which I didn't think was too bad.
CPU was about 60.
Managed to get a snap before it crashed

i7 920 overclocked to 4.2ghz (bought from OcUK pre overclocked)
SSD
6 gig ram
1150w PSU
GTX 580 - not overclocked, I don't know how lol.

Anyone but me suspect duffed RAM? Might be that your overclock has been strained with the new inclusion of your 580, perhaps the RAM isn't keeping up. I might be wrong but that BSOD message is linked with RAM in my mind, for some reason.

(Long shot, don't shoot me if I'm totally wrong!)

Reduce that OC.
4.2 is on the high side for a 920

Rule out your OC before suspecting the VC.
Run IBT, LINX or OCCT CPU tests to check for stability.

IRQL Not Less or Equal is usually a memory error. I got it a few times when I upped my FSB increasing memory overclock along with CPU, until a point where the memory couldn't handle it for more than 10 minutes and I kept getting the blue screen, although the CPU was fine at a higher clock, with memory at stock with increased multiplier as opposed to FSB.

Your blue screen relates this error to NVLDDMKM.SYS which a component of the nvidia driver.

Seriously don't think it will have anything to do with your CPU/Memory/Mobo setting's or voltages especially considering you didn't have problems with these before.

Did you overclock your 580 at all!?

If not try a different driver see if that resolves the problem, if it does then you know its an error with the particular driver, usually not being able to dump/read to and from the cards memory like its supposed to (interrupt request level/IRQL).

If a different driver doesn't resolve the matter, a good way to see if its dodgy memory on the card is to try underclocking the memory further and further down checking at different underclocks until you can get it to run stable (if you can), if you get it running stable with underclocked memory this shows its a high chance it just cant hack it at the stock memory clock.

But if either option above doesn't resolve the only other thing I would probably try is save my CPU/Memory/Mobo OC settings to a profile (if you can) and see if it runs fine with everything at stock. But this would def only be a last option to double check to see if the card was dodgy still with everything else at stock to tell me if it was a dodgy card, as your blue screen points to the Nvidia Driver very much doubt it has anything to do with your CPU/Memory/Mobo!

I had same problem swapping from 5850 to gtx480 - my OC was no more stable and I had to rise vcore and done some tweaks in BIOS.
I'm quite sure it will be same issue

Thanks for such great replies guys. I'm slowly down clocking my CPU. It was running at 90 + degrees before it crashed the last time and I got it to run for 20 mins instead of 5. This time no blue screen but literally it was like someone had pulled out the power to the PC.

Also my PSU is not 1150w that was my mistake it's Coolermaster 1100W UCP PSU.

Off to bed soon but thanks for all the advice.

I'll try what you suggested dance and the other people and hopefully will let you know if it worked or not :)

Just a little update before I try and sort this tonight....

When I got my bundle from OcUK they gave me 3 profiles
4.2/4/3.8. When I do any of these it makes my CPU run idle temps of 80 degrees +. When I set the CPU to factory settings and bios to factory settings I get idle temps of 40 degrees again.

Will try what has been suggested above tonight but at least I got something usable now, just a shame as the games feel a little jerky now (Mafia 2, Metro 2033)

Okay, the temps are way too high overclocked, and a bit high on stock.

What CPU cooler are you using?

I would strongly suggest a clean out of the case and heatsink, then a proper re-seat of the CPU cooler, which means removing it, removing all the current TIM completely (using Arcticlean or IPA) then re-application of fresh TIM (something decent if you want to run an OC'd i7!).
