Hey guys,

Just had this happen to me for the 2nd time in 2 days, basically when playing a game, my PC stalls, and the display gets all these green and random coloured dots on it, only way of fixing it is to restart it as it's literally frozen.

Does this mean that my gfx card is overheating?

I only got it in december :(

I have 169.25, the latest ones released on Dec 20th 2007. I haven't overclocked it past the factory settings that the OC2 version has.

Install Riva Tuner or another application to check your GPU temps.
Perhaps run mem-test to check your RAM.

Yeah i've been using Riva Tuner for a while, got fan profiles etc, never seems to go above 65c.

Admittedly haven't memtested my memory for a while, probably about a month, but it was all fine back then.

Here's a bad quality phone camera pic, note... the green blobs and distortion. :(

I did a memtest for about an hour and a half, nothing came up, got to 180% on it.

Is there a possability to check your card in a friends pc or another pc!
If not I would RMA the graphics card.

Something similar happend when I overclocked my GTX but did not change the fan
profile, when benching using win mark 06 I got graphical interferance like your getting.

If if only happens when playing a game, The only thing I can think of is the gpu memory or actual gpu is getting too hot or faulty memory ect which fails when stressed.
Can you hear the fan change when playing a game or can remove the side cover of your case so your gpu gets fresh air to see if that makes any difference.

Rob

The fan never reaches the first profile threshold, so its at the default of 55% fan speed that i set. I've had the cover open since it first happened today to see if that helped, so far nothing's happened, but it is rather random :(
