PC crashing during gaming

Any ideas on this one? PC has been crashing on and off all day since I put 3 new sticks of XMS3 RAM in. This is the first time I've really tested my system with a graphic instensive game. At one point the system wouldn't post at all but the PSU and fans were all running. I reset the cmos and took 3 sticks out and it booted fine...

I thought it may be a dodgy ram stick and have been switching them in and out and they all seem to boot windows fine. I'm going to run memtest to see if anything comes up. The other thing that sprung to mind is could this be voltage related? I've set the to 1.64, I think they were previously at 1.5.

OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
Mobo: X58A-UD3R
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07GHz overclocked to 4 GHz (this was a standard Overclockers system bundle)
RAM: Corsair XMS3 6 x 2 GB
GPU: Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6870 1024MB
PSU: Corsair TX750W
SSD: 60GB 2.5" SATA-II Solid State Hard Drive
Case: Antec902
Cooler: Corsair Hydro H70 high performance CPU Watercooler

1.66=1.648v dram voltage in windows on gigabyte boards

most likely its not enough qpi/vtt voltage? how much are you using? and does it blue screen with 124 error? ifso try with around 1.315v qpi/vtt and retest

if they are rated at 1.5v dram then set them to that or maybe one/two clicks higher no more

OK here is what I have - this is the standard OC that was shipped with the bundle.

I have idle temps of 43-45 degress in real temp. When put under linpack in OCCT I get blue screens with temps going up to 85 degress before it crashes. Does this sound like it could be the problem? Maybe the H70 just isn't cutting it. I've tried re-seating it and checking thermal paste (again I might try geting some more on it).

The overclock has never worked properly when put under load. Here are some screens of what is in the bios.

Yep, should have posted in the customer service section for help getting the overclock right from the beginning as it should have been stable from day 1.

Adding the RAM just added to the problem, it will require a higher VTT to run the overclock with the added RAM as it puts a lot more stress on the IMC of the CPU.

From where you are now I would increase the CPU a couple of nudges up and put VTT at 1.3v and work from there. RAM at designated voltage.

Your temp of 85c is also quite high, maybe try a reseat of your cooler with fresh paste.

Finally what is the BSOD code you get?

yup and as always good idea to try without any overclocks.... good idea in general to test for gaming/stability before overclocking :)
