Im having a bit of an issue with my pc, it only seems to be happening when i am playing games (crysis, cod4, stalker). My pc seems laggy, then it will stop responding all together, thena nasty (spectrum) type noise will come ouit the speakers, and thats it. The screen will be frozen, but nothing will respond. I then need to reset my pc for it to work again 
I thought maybe it was an issue with my ram, as ive had it runnig at 1100Mhz (crucial 1Gb sticks, 6400 800Hhz) So i bought a new set of Geil ram, wapped it in, fired crysis up and its went and did the same thing 10mins through playing
Is this a processor problem? I dont particularly want to buy anymore parts until i narrow the problem down a bit. The processor was 2nd hand when i bought it, everything else was brand new, its only a recent problem, i have had a few months where everything worked perfect.

X6800 extreme 2.9Ghz @ 3.4Ghz,
Crucial 2Gb Ram (6400),
Ip35Pro motherboard,
Msi 8800 Ultra,
Tunic tower 120,
2x samsung 500gb hard drives,
antec gaming case,
Thermaltake 750w psu.
Any help would be much appreciated as im lost without a bit of gaming
