Wondering if anyone could confirm something I read on another forum?
I bult my own PC last year, though been avoidig games since I was busy studying for soemthing and games were too much of a timesink. Anyway now free to play games and loaded rome total war onto my machine - quite high end, I think, and I'm experiencing some severe problems. Namely I seem to get 'artifacts' in the game, where I end up having to quit game since I can hardly see anythign on the game screen.
Also had a couple fo crashes - thing is I hear the fans kick in big time when this happens, then stabalise and either it crashes back to the desktop or it freezes completely.
Does this sound like an overheating problem, and if so can anyone suggest what I should do to resolve this - I specifically built a decenbt machine so I could play games with decent grapics etc, and now kinda worry that Im stuffed.

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 S775, 2.40Ghz, 1066Mhz FSB, Conroe Core, 4M Cache
GX-112-SP Sapphire ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express)
Asus P5W DH Deluxe WiFi (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
