Ok then for a long tiem now ive suffered random bsod's but they were so rare like litraly 1 a week if that. But today ive crashed twice within 30min and when crashign the pc speaker gets stuck in one long beep.

but the second crash my pc gave me a message saying that my gpu settings ahd been put on low performance due to not getting enough power.

This seems kinda odd to happen all of a sudden when BSOD have never been tied in with gaming they happen randomly and i played games recently without any problems.

i gues i should start running 3dmark etc to stress out my gpu etc.

:EDIT:

also ever since about a month into owning the pc ive noticed its not a very stable overclock. i put it down to the motherboard at the time and desided to continue with it due to all the hassel not being worth it (what a joke abit folded huh?). But it appeasr to be getting worse, i went from having my q6600 at 3.4ghz stable to bringing it down to 2.5ghzs to prevent random crashs over about a 7 month period. Yet it used to pass stress testing ok . which is odd as well.

Ok then a lil update. I didn't have time to do any stress testing but last night it totaly died on me and now it only works when the pc is on its side. Which is very odd. It gets stuck in a boot cycle if i have it upright. But ive checked all the cables so im thinking it could be something to do with my motherboard. Which has always been flakey.

Ive run furmark and it didn't crash and was hitting just over 100 degrees which is pritty hot so i downloading expert tool to turn up my fan and im going to run 3d mark and then later prime.

But if its not crashing from stress testing but will not turn on when upright i gues im right in thinking its most probably the motherboard? However yseterday it constantly crashed saying my gpu not gettign enough power. ut it just survived furmark?

And no this is like my 3rd reinstall due to geting a new hard drive. And it wasn't overclocked on this install because my motherboard has become so unstable. previously it was fine at 3.4ghz. Now its at 2.5ghz on this install.

ok so its passed 1 hour of prime95 and the pc isn't even running slow at all while i use it. Going to run 3dmark instead and then put prime on over night.

:EDIT:

Failed the second gpu test of 3dmark vantage 1.01 . Thing is it didn't come up with any gpu power supply problems on reboot and it crashed a second time just after booting into windows.

:EDit2:

Just crashed again for no reason claiming gpu not getting enough power. I rechecked my cableing but all is good. I spose i shall be rmaing my psu then?

But this doesn't explain why it wont post when upright. Unless perhaps its my gpu and when upright a wireconnection fault stops it getting any power?
