Hey OcUK :)

Need some help for choosing componants for my dads PC im going to build for him. He doesn't need any fancy. Preferably a micro-ATX case/mobo and as cheap as possible. Only things he will be using it for is MS Office, browsing, messaging, and movies via dual monitor (one is his TV other is monitor).

Any ideas for best bang for buck budget build?

i would have thought that some decent onboard graphics could easily cope with HD movies, and more than one monitor. no need for a graphics card if thats all thats going to be done.

processor might be overkill, im not really sure what HD movies require in that respect.

processor cooler was included because the fan noise of the stock AMD fan is ridiculous. it has been likened to a hairdryer by several people (including me). i figured if this computer is going to be in the same room as the telly when you watch movies, your gonna want it to be resonably quiet. if you want a better cooler than the one ive included, you will need to change the case, or the corsair H50 (i have the case myself, and nothing better will fit as they are all too tall)

speaking of the case, its not the greatest. build quality is just fine, nothing wrong with it, but there are no cable tidy options whatsoever, so you will end up with spaghetti junction in there. if thats not a problem to you then its a great case. if you want it to look nice inside, continue shopping around

Maybe swap the Freezer 7 out for a TX3 - really easy to fit, and if he isn't overclocking then it will run perfectly and quietly.
 
£350 to £400 is a good price for these decent machines. What about going i3 Sandybridge for a tincy bit more?
