Hey all, was on my PC yesterday and it suddenly cut out. At first I thought it was a power cut, but I realised it was just my PC effected. When I tried to turn it on it will start as normal and you can hear the hard drive spin up but the graphics card fan is at full RPM and the hard drive activity light is constantly on.

Firstly I took out the graphics card, brushed off the thin layer of dust and put it back in. Started it back up and it started working fine again but then after 1- 2 hours use it cut out again. Second time I left it off overnight came back next day and it worked for another 2 hours before turning off.

Hopefully that made sense :p Anyone know what could be wrong?

If I'm honest I forgot to check the temps before it last shut off, but I would have thought that the fans would spin up higher before it shut it's self down.

This happened to me... i unplugged it for about 5 minutes then reconnected everything and powered on. Worked fine after that :).

Normally they would. I'd personally just buy a new PSU anyway. It wont do any harm. If it turns out not to be the PSU, either send it back under DSR or keep it for a rainy day... everyone needs a spare PSU these days.
