Ok guys, fun issue for you.
Purchased a new i7 950 + mobo + ram as a bundle, installed them all and started up windows. All seemed fine, till i tried to play a game, then the system cut out. Turned it back on carried on playing the same game for 15 mins without any problem, started another round and cuts out again. Thought maybe it was overheating, but nope, 30c idle and 45c at 100% on prime 95.
Tested the ram, tested the hdd all working correctly.
Then it starts getting stranger, system starts cutting out as soon as windows loads.
So think to myself it must be the new parts and swap back to my old q6600. Now this is doing it aswell, thought maybe it was the drivers, so put in an ssd i had on my desk with windows already installed, works fine off of that. Maybe it was just the drivers, put in the i7 again, fresh install of windows, cuts out again.
Now i'm thinking possibly that the extra load from the i7 might have killed my psu? its an Enermax ein650w.
Before i click the order button to get a new psu delivered, anyone else got any ideas?
