Hi All,

Well, after 5 years service the time has finally come, my PC wont turn on again. I reckon its either the PSU or the graphics card and ive been looking to upgrade for a while now.

Heres what im thinking

Core i5 2500k
Gigabyte Z68 UD3P
Corsair Vengeance 8GB C9 RAM
Crucial M4 128GB
+ a corsair PSU

Only worry is that bulldozer may be coming out soon and i5 price may drop. I'm also going to leave the GPU as is right now (4870) to see if it was the GPU not working. I'll upgrade GPU when the new ones come out in Q1 or so?

I've got a separate thread on the case in the cases forum.

What you guys reckon i should do, and does the above build look good?

looks fine, take it you have another sata drive to use as storage alongside the ssd ?

consider a cooler for the processor to help keep it cool when you start overclocking.

are you stuck on getting a corsair psu for any reason, few other decent ones around as well nowadays.

can't imagine the sandybridge prices dropping that much come bulldozer release, but if its something you think you might regret then wait and see.

could always start of with a new psu and confirm if its that, no loss cos you can use it on your new build, if the psu proves to not be the problem.
