hi guys

i have a ASUS A7N8X running a XP2500 sk462 cpu

yesterday my pc booted up, i saw the boot sequence, then would freeze.

so i opened the case, checked all wiring and when i put the PSU power cable (kettle lead) in i saw sparks coming from the back of the PSU.

so i got a new psu today, fitted it.

the cpu fan spins, the led on the mobo turns on, but nothing else happens.

the dvd drive doesnt open or light up, the hard drive doesnt spin (not from what i can hear), no mobo beeps, nothing on the monitor.

anyone know what it could be? ive tried clearing CMOS but no luck there.

could it be a cpu fault? or a mobo fault?

the previous psu was a cheapy one, that lasted me 4 years untill now,

any help much appreciated

thanks

my money is on the mobo....

basically when the old psu died it took the mobo with it...sorry to say...

please note, even when a mobo dies, the cpu cooler fan will spin so will other fans, and the led's on the board will also light up...
