Hi

I've had an ongoing issue with my PC over the last month or two. It generally happens when I am playing a game but can happen at any time. The machine turns off completely / freezes on last image. It will then power cycle until I remove power completely and drain from computer by pressing start button

So far I've -
upgraded drivers on all hardware
Tested memory (RAM)
Tested health of the SSD
Thought it was my new 970 Gfx card so replaced with my old 6950 and still happened.

Replaced mobo with brand new one.

I have checked temperatures etc and the cpu stays around 40 C

At this stage I've been resigned to the fact its the PSU

Any suggestions/tests similar issues

thanks

Can you please list all the bits n bobs.

Asrock Z77 Pro4 Mobo (this replaced MSI Z68a-65 mobo)
8GB xms3 DDR3 RAM
i5 2500k
Corsair HX 850W PSU
Samsung 840 EVO SSD 250Gb
EVGA 970 GTX Gfx card ( this replaced Sapphaire 6950 2GB)
(water cooling system for CPU as I used OC it, its at default 3.30 at the moment)

The SSD can have its firmware updated.

Take a single stick of ram out and test, then replace iwth the other one.

Then its the PSU that is all that is left.

Thanks Stulid

The SSD is FW is up to date ,

i'll try the one stick of ram later.

What PSU would you recommend to get. i've the listed setup, an Asus xonar essence stx, and 5HDDs (none are plugged in etc at the moment)

Update: I've replaced the PSU and the same thing happens.

Only other external devices that use power are WC pump, Fan controller , fans....

Going to move everything other than the motherboard to the old psu that I thought was faulty but seems ok, and move things over to try and isolate the issue

any other suggestions or tips would be appreciated
