Right now, im in a crisis. I have recently found out that my old wireless adapter, TP-Link TL-WN951N caused my PC to lock up and loop the previous played sound every few minutes, no, every few seconds. Drove me insane and i ordered a "better" wireless card, the TP-Link TL-WDN4800.

Straight off the bat, this caused me nightmares. Speeds were absolutely garbage and I hit 0.7Mb down and 0.5Mb up. Not what im used to. I pay for 50 down and 20 up but I used to hit through my old card, 30 - 40 down and 20 up.

I then ordered the ASUS PCE-N15 through here yesterday, received it and got it up and running and was fantastic. 2 antennas, 1 less than the other two cards and a full, strong connection with okayish speeds.
Fast forward a few hours and jesus christ, the internet disconnects whenever it wants. While web browsing and streaming videos, it may not disconnect at all, but when playing games like League of Legends? Every 30 seconds or so.
I have my Nexus 7 next to me to test the internet everytime it disconnects and its fine. So is the internet on the laptop.
Is this a faulty card or is there something i need to do?

Already set to the least saturated. Its most certainly a problem with the card or drivers. I'm currently trying to install the realtek drivers as the Asus card uses the chipset.

Ive installed the realtek drivers instead. There are dropouts but not as frequent.
Ill be talking to ASUS soon about this.

Nope. Havent run anti virus for years without a problem.
But if there is a virus known for disconnects and effecting network performance, then it may be time to get the anti-virus back

That you know of,probably infected like a $5 w****
Logging all your bank details and personal`piccies` as I type;):D

I'd still run inssider to pick the best channel for your router

Which router do you have by the way?

Personally, I only rely on wireless for light/mobile browsing. I like to cable everything up.

Home Hub 3. Thing is, when i first got BT Infinity, I was almost getting my speed through wireless. Now im not and the card keeps dropping out. Like i said, ive already set it to the least saturated channel.
I really would, but I just dont know how to get a cable down there. If anyone could link me those clips that you nail into the wall that hold cables in place, I may have a go! I just have no clue what those things are called!
