i have recently made a 680i sli pc, with dual 9600gt's 512mb ddr3, core duo e7300 oc'd to 3.5ghz and 6gb ddr2 850mhz corsair ram and a 1 tb hdd sata 2, but its a lil funny..... it runs tests fine except the stress tests which in prime 95 one core had a error and doesnt test it. does the same in some other torutre testing programs, and suddenly today it just turned off, and all temps were normal. other thing thats running warm id say is the psu...

Hi Welcome to the Forums :)

I would try trimming the system down a bit.. i.e. single card, disks, drop the oc and so forth until it's stable. Then add one item back at a time and restest between. Once every thing is back, then reapply the OC and again restest in between. If the system becomes unstable after last change, then you'll know where the problem is.

Use memtest86+ to verify the memory is operative. Try using one memory stick at a time and try the single sticks in different slots. If one stick of memory fails in all slots, then its almost certainly a RAM problem. If the working RAM stick works in one slot but not another, then this is certainly going to be a memory controller problem which is located on the motherboard for C2D.

Check also that the memory is set correctly i.e. Frequency, VDIMM and latency timings. Check the manufacturers website for details.

If your memory looks ok, then you may need to check your PSU:

Out of interest, what memory modules are you using? Not that it makes any difference but running 6gb you may have disabled dual channel memory.

im runing 2+1 2+1 of the same ram. corsair ddr2 800mhz. its crashed a few times while iv touched the graphics cards while they are on, i was think its cos v1 pci-e slots are loser than v2 and when they are disturbed it loses conections of some sort

i was touching to determine the temps becuase ti wouldnt boot into windows yet, there was a few pronlems before it all came together. it mah be my core duo oc confiq i may need a lil help.

Well as I said, I think you'll need to start doing a little detective work. Take the system back to bear essentials and add back each item one-by-one and test in between as I said in my previous post. There's no shortcut I'm afraid when it come to PC fault finding... but my previous will give you a good start to eliminate possibilities..
