PC Double Booting after swapping out GPU

Yesterday I swapped out my current GPU for my old one just to test a few things, then put my new one back in.

However, when I put the old one in, suddenly my PC was double booting (not sure if that's the correct phrase) pretty much every time I turned it on. I then switched back to my new card once I had done what I wanted, and the double booting now happens with my new card as well.

PC powers up, monitor doesn't pick up any signal, lasts about 10 seconds then shuts down. Then starts itself up and boots up fine.

Didn't change or alter anything other than swapping the graphics cards back and forth.

I did overclock my CPU about a month or 2 ago, but haven't had a single problem with that leading up to yesterday.

Any ideas?

Specs:
Intel Core i5 2500K (4.5GHz)
Asus P8P67 Intel P67 Mainboard
Asus 7970 Matrix Platinum GPU
Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 8GB RAM
Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA-II
Samsung 120GB SSD 840 EVO
XFX Pro 650W Core Edition Power Supply
Windows 7 64bit

my computer also does this occasionally, I never figured it out, but it's been doing it for years and had no serious issues XD

basically you press the on button, lights come on and everything whirs up, 10s later, everything goes off, comes back on, and then it loads up fine.

:S

What was the other card you used?

Have a look in your bios and check your settings.

Was a GTX 480.

Used Display Driver Uninstaller in Safe Mode to get rid of the current AMD drivers, swapped the AMD 7970 for the GTX 480, and as soon as I turned it on the double booting began.

What settings should I be looking for in the BIOS?

Have you removed all of the Nvidia drivers?

Just have a look through and see if any of your settings have changed.

You could also have a look in Event Viewer and see what was recorded at the time of the double boot.

No sign of any Nvidia files or folders. Used Display Driver Uninstaller to remove them in Safe Mode when I put my 7970 back in.

Where and what am I looking for in Event Viewer? Which tab/section would this Error be under?
