Hello everyone,

I have an old pc which i would like to inject some life into.

I need to get a pci-e card that has USB3 and Sata 3 support to throw in it an SSD drive. I just bought a usb3 WD My passport ultra and would like to do lots of back ups and finally see something running fast in this pc.

P5q Deluxe mobo
E7400 processor
Geforce 470 Twin Frozr MSI
Creative Audigy 2
4 x 1 GB Kingston DDr2 667
Enermax Pro 82+ 625W

Could you suggest a PCI-e card for this?I found an Asus U3S6 that everyone is complaining that even though has a x4 PCI-e connection its 2 controllers for USB and Sata are under x1 speed so the speeds are slow.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Also can i use a pci-e x4 card on the black x16 slot at the bottom of the mobo i have without slowing down the GPU?

Yes i saw that one although people who have benchmarked the Sata have seen lower numbers than SATA2.

In the end i might just get a usb3 card and a Sata card although i think i am running out of ports

Might be cheaper to look for a Skt775 USB3 mobo, Asus or GB.
