As per title, on a rare occasion my PC will not resume from power saving mode.

Initially power is cut to monitor and then I believe disks are parked after an extended period, maybe 20 minutes. Upon returning to the PC there often remains the appearance of disk activity, as if its in the screen only power saving mode, but the keyboard is unresponsive and the system will not return to fully active status.

Capslock/Numlock do not light when pressed, so things have crashed. System has to be switched right off and on to get it to work again, which runs into a secondary issue with the crucial SSD which goes into lifesaving mode and needs the crucial power cycling technique to make it come alive again after allowing a windows reboot.
Where in event viewer should I be looking, as the error critical I see is when the system reboots letting me it wasn't shut down correctly. I was aware of this so how do I find what is causing the killing?

Windows 7, all up to date, happened 4 times in past year, but twice in last week which is more concerning.

I am not convinced that some form of windows backup event started around the time of power saving kicking in.

The only thing in the logs around the time I tried to wake things up was
The server {lots of letters and numbers} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.
