greetings all

my cpu (q6600) has been running a lot hotter than intended recently (48 idle) even after a reseet, 6 weeks ago it was running at 32.
I ordered a new PSU (coolmaster 620w), tuniq tower heatsink and a couple of fans to cool it down. Despite city link's best effort, I received these today and installation seemed to go smoothly.

Now when I power on my pc does not boot, does not even POST, I have removed all devices leaving only the motherboard and cpu (reseeted the tt a number of times to make sure) and it's still the same, have also tried my old PSU and still no joy.

no beeps at all, no lights on the mobo (J&W IP35 Pro), although the tt fan does start running.

When i tried just psu and motherboard, no cpu, it did not switch off straight away but also did not show any lights and nothing came on the lcd panel.

I think my mobo is borked but am worried that my cpu is also, any advice?

Hmmm, if there are no lights on the mobo where there should be then it does sound like a duff mobo. Maybe the new PSU blew something - any sign of burning around any of the connectors? Have you also checked to make sure nothing is shorting the mobo - a stray screw for example? All you can do is the good 'ol process of elimination.....if you haven't got a friend with a similar setup to try bits out on then you'll have to take it to your friendly local PC repair place and get them to identify the culprit.

Good luck!
