pc failing to boot into windows

got a pc ..switches on post screen appears...fails to boot into windows oe even its in set up bios just sits there...

any ideas...replaced the hard drive and clean install randomly fails to boot

same as before fails to boot...

wont load hirens either at the moment...

but when it decides to load works fine..just often decides not too..

screens post ..fails to do anything except...spins cd drive which is first boot option then hard drive..

nope just press F10 tells me entering set up but then just stops me getting in..was getting in yesterday ok...

no over clock just a clean install..nothing connected at all...except wire less card might try that..

ok reset it again and its booted into windows this time...very random..

no wont post...thing is the thing will boot run windows and work fine..then you reboot or switch it off and then next time it wont...may try 20/30 times and then it will again as if nothings wrong...very odd but as above been trying to fix it for over a week of evenings even replaced the hard drive as i thought it was have boot issue because of that...but its even failing to post into bios when it fails so i,m not sure where to go..even fails to boot a recovery cd etc..think it must be an intermittent motherboard fault..

its not a tower but a laptop..hp compaq nx6110...not damp..battery is fine running mains too...running ide hard drives..

yeah i'm thinking the same..must be 3/4 years old..1.7 gig celeron..256mb ram...

time to upgrade..lol..
