PC Failing to boot - stuck at "Verifying DMI Pool Data"

Hey Guys,

My brother's having a lil problem with his rig in that for some reason it won't boot. Not sure what's caused it, but it seems to stick at the "verifying DMI pool data" stage. We've tried doing the usual CMOS reset, changing boot sequences and swapping hard drives but no change :confused:

. His rig is:

DFI LAN Party NF590 SU
AMD X2 6000+
4GB DDR2
XFX Geforce 8800DTX

So much better than mine

Anyway, any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried pulling the power lead, perssing the power button a few times then refitting the power lead and turning it on? remove any usb devices also.

I had a similar problem wih my machine, basically it was because i had 2 IDE hard drives plugged in too, instead of just starting out with the SATA HD.

I just unplugged them from the MOBO IDE Header, tried again and all was fine and dandy.

Reset the CMOS? Try booting with 1 stick of RAM?
