Well, I have a problem...

When I come to turn my PC on, it starts to boot up, all normal, Post screen and the like, HDD activity light flashing away. The black windows 8 load screen comes up for about 2 seconds, then the screens go black. From there, it sits for about 20-30 seconds, and then I hear both of my drives spin down suddenly. They have that sound as if the power has just suddenly been pulled from them.

If I just leave it alone, it just stays on a black screen. Upon pressing the power button, it just shuts down immediately, as if it was just the console. Then, when I press the button again, it starts up, all fine and dandy, and I can go about using my PC as I normally would.

There is nothing out of the ordinary when using my PC, only on the first attempt to boot it each time.

Any ideas guys?

Are you overclocking?

Sounds similar to when it fails an overclock sometimes and reverts bios back to default, depending on the motherboard.

What are the specs?

Thanks for the reply.

I haven't overclocked per say, but I have flicked the little TPU switch on my motherboard, as its an Asus one. BUT, the problems started before I ever touched that switch. I've turned it back off again though.

My specs are:
Asus P8Z77-V MoBo
i5 3570k
Corsair vengeance Ram
Corsair CX series 500w power supply.
My primary drive is a WD Caviar Black
